Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 hungry children that would be raised in the same household, figured out very young how to overcome of her difficulties with her incredibly vivid imagination. She was writing songs before she could read or write. When she got her first instrument at age of 8, she began performing on radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. In the same year, she recorded her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While still in highschool She made her mark locally but dreamed about having a bigger stage. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his television show that was syndicated around the exact time. Parton accepted the role in 1966, she joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. The band split in 1974 after her own hits such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Be Loved by You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the No. number 1 position after the duo separated. 1 for the first time in 1974.
