Harry Edward Styles (also known as Harry Styles in the music world) is a British artist and composer. Harry Styles was one of the founding members of One Direction. He was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England in February 1994. He is the child of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles studied at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, in which he started his own band, composed of 3 schoolmates, which he called White Eskimo. White Eskimo won in Battle of Bands 2009 thanks to its excellent presentation. Although he has been a fan of music, as well, he was also interested in becoming either a physiotherapist or lawyer. He was employed in a local bakery part-time to help his family financially. As of the year 2010, Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he did the track Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. For that reason his band needed to be split. After the audition in The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles join a future band that would be known as One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell was the sponsor of this band, which began in the year 2010. They sang the Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would Be Sucky without You and Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart throughout the competition. It helped them to become one of the frontrunners. But they finished in third place, just behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. While Harry Styles and his group failed to win the competition, Cowell paid a contract of 2 million pounds for One Direction to sign with the Syco recording label.
